Due to the beetle infestation on the Kona coast, and other issues which have drastically reduced the amount of Kona coffee harvested this season, the Kona Peaberry will remain unavailable for the 2012 season. We hope to see its return for next year.
This is the highly-sought after Peaberry version of our Kona Coffee, grown by the Greenwell family on the Big Island.
Normally, two coffee beans are formed in a single coffee cherry. However, about five percent of the crop is formed as a single coffee bean. This relatively small, but dense, bean is known as Peaberry and exhibits a unique earthy, yet fruity, taste.
